On February 4-5, 2025, the PRO-CLIMATE consortium gathered in Badajoz, Spain, for its 3rd project meeting, hosted by Diputacion de Badajoz. The meeting brought together all PRO-CLIMATE partners to review the project’s progress, address emerging challenges, and plan the next steps. A welcome speech was delivered by the Deputy of Rural Development, Demographic Challenge, and Tourism in Diputacion de Badajoz, emphasising the importance of collaborative climate adaptation efforts at the local and regional levels.
Over two days, discussions focused on the advancement of Work Packages, with key updates on the establishment of Living Labs, participatory governance, behavioural change process and climate adaptation modeling. Special attention was given to the interdependencies between WP2, WP3, and WP4, ensuring better coordination among teams. Additionally, a dedicated training session on participatory methodologies equipped Living Lab leaders with tools to engage stakeholders effectively. A roundtable for Change Agents explored strategies to overcome institutional barriers and improve local impact.
Communication and dissemination strategies were reinforced, highlighting the need to continue increasing engagement across social media, conferences, and scientific publications. Clustering with other EU projects and exploring synergies for future collaborations remains a priority. The Key Exploitable Results of the project have also been identified and further discussed.
Looking ahead, the next project meeting is scheduled for September 2025 in Gdańsk, Poland. The consortium will continue working on strengthening its Living Labs, refining policy recommendations, and ensuring that PRO-CLIMATE delivers meaningful impact on climate adaptation and resilience across Europe.
